Louis the 19th King of Television

Mandelbrot

Are the Québecois the only moviemakers in North America with a sense of humour? Latest evidence to hand would certainly suggest so: three movies in the local video place this season and all winners. Perfectly Normal has restaurant launching, cab driving and working in a brewery in it; La Florida has Florida, a Quebec winter, a motel, a bad guy motelier and a good guy bus driver-turned-motelier and Americans who mistake French for Spanish in it. And Louis the 19th: King of the Air Waves has Montreal, heartless TV executives, a hapless protagonist, a love affair, and great questions about the illusions of life. All of these are very funny movies and great video!
