The Montreal Gazette

Mandelbrot

The Montreal Gazette reports that Réjean Ducharme, whose new novel Va Savoir is at the top of the bestseller list, has released a photograph of him after a photographic hiatus of twenty-five years, or, in the words of the Gazette caption writer, "a quarter-century." The photograph was unveiled by Ducharme's publisher (Editions Gallimard) in a trendy bar on St. Laurent Blvd. According to the article, Ducharme is accompanied by a large dog (in the photograph), "but the dog is looking away." The Gazette is home to noted sports writer Pat Hickey who earlier in the season turned the noun suppository into an adjective meaning (as far as we can tell) conjectural.
