Crowd of Sounds

Brad Cran

Crowd of Sounds is a fine new book of poems by Adam Sol (House of Anansi), with great lines and poetic epiphanies that give the book instant appeal, but its overall allure is much quieter and perfectly subtle. This book grows with each reading, moving in and out of the personal with sharp reference to international violence, group identity cards and Blockbuster Video. Even the most “personal” poems in this book matter in a large way: Sol’s talent as a storyteller and poet make it happen.
