Broken Pencil; the Guide to Alternative Publications in Canada

Stephen Osborne

Just in: a copy of Broken Pencil; the Guide to Alternative Publications in Canada, Number One. A much needed guide to the weird and wonderful of the periodical press in Canada. Arranged by province, which is a bit goofy, and it doesn't yet list Juxtsuppose, one of our favourite zines. But it does say that Geist is "full of humour and great writing," and there are a lot of interesting mags in here that you may not know (for example: Slur, Flux, Juicy, Gunk, Ugly, Wench, Zot and Zygote). An important reference for the serious reader. Twice-yearly from: H2 Publications, Box 23 Stn P, Toronto M5S 2S7.
