Half a World Away

THE EDITORS

I used to listen to Stan when he played the folk music circuit in Ottawa in the ’70s. When I heard about the Air Canada fire, I was living in Hong Kong and was devastated. Several years later, my sister and I were visiting England and came across a folk concert in a small village in the south. To our surprise, the main performer, Tom Paxton, sang several of Stan’s songs and said he was one of the greatest folk-song writers and singers of our time. I echo that sentiment. Stan Rogers will never be forgotten.
