Loved yesterday's interview with Eve Egoyan on CBC radio's Queue.
Egoyan sounded nervous at first but once she got talking about Ann Southam (a Canadian composer who died recently), being a "small-handed pianist," practising on her neighbour's (Mrs. Curly's) piano, playing "in stillness" and the "combination of curiosity and fear" that new music audiences experience, her passion for and love of new music were infectious.
Egoyan is touring the west later this month:
You can hear Egoyan on CBC Radio 3 (but you have to turn off the annoying automatic music first).
