Lorna Crozier is a Governor General's Award-winning poet whose latest published collection is Apocrypha of Light (1992). She has also edited two non-fiction anthologies, Desire in Seven Voices and Addicted: Notes from the Belly of the Beast, and she teaches at the University of Victoria. "Spit," published in Geist 48, is part of a collection of personal essays, a work-in-progress.
